Mom's Birthday

Mom's birthday follows right after Cheryl's, so we were already in the birthday spirit.
The Controversial Card
One of our favorite things is singing cards (especially Hoops and Yoyo -they are great)! So we thought we'd find mom one! Well we found one, it didn't exactly sing but made noise. Heidi and I were so excited about it and thought it was perfect for mom! Well, after we got home and listened to it more carefully, we weren't so sure. We mostly liked it for the part about taking a nap because mom really enjoys that. The card says something like, " Happy Birthday (with lots of enthusiasm)...This is an elderly person so we need to make this as least exciting as possible....happy birthday.....no no that's too much we don't want to send them into a tail spin...okay happy birthday (with less enthusiasm)...." Anyways we were a little concerned about the elderly part. But after a long debate we finally decided to give it to her.
Here it is.

The front.

Inside Spread.

Close up of inside.

Close up of the back. See the "Happy napping!" :)

Mom examining her card...will she like it?

Being sure she hears it I guess. haha. I am pretty sure she liked it. She smiled and laughed, so I think we were safe, luckily. :)

The Cake

At our house, a birthday just isn't a birthday with out a cake. And so we try to make something special for everyones. For mom, we decided to create her back yard, because it is something she loves and spends a lot of time with. It took a lot of work and time, but between Heidi, Cheryl, and I, I think we mastered it pretty well.
Tada! I really had a lot of fun on this cake.
The real back yard.
Mom loved the cake so much she wasn't sure she wanted to eat it. But um she did, along with the rest of us! And it was yummy!
Presents

Well, you can't really see it so well, but Bryant gave mom a necklace he got from the Indian reservation. The green present that is unwrapped is a photo frame with pictures of us three sisters. Off to the side you can see Wyatt card he made her. And I think he may have also given her some stuff from his "Special drawer."
